The question that's been on Dallas Cowboys fans regarding defensive end Taco Charlton has finally been answered. Unfortunately, the news is not something they wanted to hear at all.

Ian Rapoport confirmed Cowboy Nation's greatest fear:

Charlton has been deactivated from the active roster, causing him to miss out both of the Cowboys' games so far.

The writing was on the wall, however. Everyone knew that the former Michigan Wolverine's future with the team has been questionable before the announcement. However, he sent out a cryptic tweet a couple of days ago.

He also mentioned after the Cowboy's loss to the 49ers in the preseason that he is trying to focus on his football as he and his agent had their talk about his future.

“We hear a lot of things. Like I said, I go out with the same thing each time. I try with the same thing, I go out there and play hard, try to be the best player on the field. My mentality never changes. I try to dominate the guy I’m against and try to make plays for this team and the type of plays for this defense that makes us a better defense for sure.”

The team also admitted on their end that they have been talking to other teams in a bid to ship him off. They have reportedly talked to the Miami Dolphins about a possible trade for Minkah Fitzpatrick. Moreover, the team is reported to be in talks with another unnamed team for a player swap.

Charlton will attract attention from teams in need of a young defensive end that can produce. In his two years with America's Team, he made 46 tackles, 11 QB hits, four sacks, two pass deflections, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.

The next couple of days is going to be interesting as everyone will be wondering where he lands.
