The first round of the 2021 NFL Draft is set to begin on April 29. The Dallas Cowboys currently have the 10th overall selection, which means they have the opportunity to select one of the best prospects available this year.

The Cowboys' offense is loaded with talent, and the biggest need on that side of the ball is the offensive line. For this team to genuinely improve, they need to find help on the defense. However, it appears as though Jerry Jones is infatuated with a player the team doesn't necessarily need, as Kyle Pitts is all over Jones' radar, according to ESPN's Chris Mortensen.

“We’re hearing this thing about Jerry Jones, the owner of the Cowboys — and the GM — being infatuated with Kyle Pitts,” Mortensen said on ESPN. “He’s going to have to trade up to get Kyle Pitts. He spent $40 million a year on Dak Prescott, so why not go get Kyle Pitts?”

The Florida Gators product is making waves in the NFL world as the best tight end prospect in the draft. Pitts could even go in the top five thanks to his prolific skill set and physical tools.

The Cowboys certainly don't need Pitts on the roster, but the idea of him joining Amari Cooper, CeeDee Lamb, and Michael Gallup in the passing game is the reason why Jerry Jones is seemingly “infatuated” with him. With Dak Prescott back from his injury and Ezekiel Elliott coming out of the backfield, Dallas would be tough to stop if Pitts gets added to the fold.

We won't know what happens in the draft until April 29. However, from what's being reported in Dallas, it's possible Jerry Jones makes the move to acquire Kyle Pitts. Stay tuned to find out what the Cowboys do as they try to bounce back from a miserable 6-10 season.
