Amid rumors that Amari Cooper is seeking a long-term contract, the Dallas Cowboys' star wideout scored on a 10-yard touchdown catch from Dak Prescott against the Washington Redskins on Sunday.

It was quarterback Dak Prescott's third passing touchdown of the day in three quarters, previously finding unretired tight end Jason Witten and 27-year-old Devin Smith for scores.

Cooper's touchdown haul pushed Dallas' second-half lead over their NFC East division rival Washington to two touchdowns. 34-year-old veteran running back Adrian Peterson scored a goal line rush for a touchdown earlier in the game, passing Hall of Famer Jim Brown for sole possession of the fifth-most all-time career rushing touchdowns.

The Oakland Raiders selected Alabama product Cooper with the fourth overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, where he spent three-plus seasons in black and silver before head coach Jon Gruden and the Bay Area franchise traded the three-time Pro-Bowl receiver to the Cowboys mid-season in 2018 for a first-round pick in last April's class.

Cooper appeared in nine games for the Cowboys during his abbreviated 2018 season debut, tallying 53 receptions for 725 yards and six touchdowns.

The former Heisman Trophy finalist recorded six receptions in the Cowboys' Week 1 win over the New York Giants last Sunday, scoring a touchdown and topping slightly over 100 yards.

Cooper is also reportedly seeking a long-term contract with Dallas along with recent extensions in star running back Ezekiel Elliott and currently negotiating Prescott. Cooper plans to be “patient” while awaiting his new deal with the Big D franchise.
