Bill Belichick usually tends to be reserved when speaking to the media but he didn't mince words when speaking about Dallas Cowboys' Emmitt Smith. In a priceless exchange, Belichick was extremely complimentary of the Cowboys' running back.

To celebrate the 100th season of the NFL, NFL Network is doing a series of shows to name players to the NFL's all-time team. One of the first episodes involved the running back position and Smith was one of the first players chosen for the position.

When he was selected, Belichick continued to exclaim that he's ‘flabbergasted' at Smith's ability to create something out of nothing. The Hall-of-Fame running back then proceeded to express his gratitude that Belichick's opinion holds a lot of meaning to him.

Smith is the NFL's all-time leading rusher with 18,355 yards on 4,409 attempts (4.2 yards per attempt). Above all, Smith helped the Cowboys win three Super Bowls in a span of four years in the 1990s.

Most impressively, from 1991-2001, Smith was able to rush for over 1,000 yards in 11 consecutive seasons. There aren't many running backs in the history of the NFL who have been able to play for 11 years.

For Smith, he wasn't the fastest running back or the most powerful runner during his playing career. Instead, he was a well-balanced running back who was capable of utilizing his plenty of skills to gain yards through contact.

When discussing the best running back of all time, Smith's name is usually mentioned. But now that he has an endorsement from Belichick, his case for the best running back of all time has gotten stronger.
