Dallas Cowboys quarterback Garrett Gilbert tossed a touchdown pass to wide-receiver CeeDee Lamb Sunday afternoon, pacing the struggling Dallas squad to an early 10-0 lead against the undefeated Pittsburgh Steelers.

Having entered the season as the fourth-string quarterback for the Cowboys, Gilbert's insertion into the starting lineup is not only a surprise for the former seventh-round pick, but also a worst-case scenario for an organization that has seen its quarterback corp devastated by injuries and underperformance.

Following Dak Prescott's gruesome leg injury that ended his season, the Cowboys have been forced to endure the loss of Andy Dalton to a concussion the past two weeks, as well as the disappointing play of rookie Ben DiNucci last week.

Through the first two quarters of play Sunday afternoon, Gilbert has not only thrown a touchdown but also accumulated a passer rating of 130.8.

The reception was also not only Lamb's third of the season–as well of his career–but was the first Cowboys' touchdown in over nine quarters.
