The Dallas Cowboys take centerstage every Thanksgiving and despite holding a 3-7 record entering their Thursday matchup against the Washington Football Team, they can take the lead of their division and ready themselves for a playoff run.

On the daily Locked On Cowboys podcast, Marcus Mosher and Landon McCool discuss what the Cowboys can do to win on Thursday and place themselves in the driver’s seat in the NFC East division race.

Mosher: I think ultimately what one of the things is that’s going to make the biggest difference is I just feel like Dalton has a better rhythm with his wide receivers now than he did at that point. He’s just had more practice but if you’ll remember, he didn’t get a lot more because he had the concussion and was in the COVID protocol. It’s not like he got a ton more work. It does feel like they have kind of smoothed over some of the timing stuff or they’re getting better.

They’re getting better at some of the timing stuff and that’s going to be really important this week because of the pass rush you’re facing because they need their wide receivers to get open early in routes so that Dalton can get rid of the ball early so that he’s not putting a whole lot of pressure on his offensive line so they can block these four guys for long periods of time. So, I think that if there’s been any more rapport that’s been built between Dalton and the wide receivers, that’s certainly going to help just in the way that if Dalton can get rid of the ball a little bit early before they break out of their routes, that would at least help Dalton take as many hits and limit pressure from his offensive line.
