After skipping the Rio Olympics, TNT sideline reporter Craig Sager awaits a bone-marrow transplant as part of his treatment for Leukemia.

The 65-year-old Northwestern alum remained positive despite the series of challenges he's endured the past two years and the ones he's yet to endure.

“I have met life’s challenges by climbing the Great Wall of China, riding with the bulls in Pamplona, sailing the Pacific Ocean with Ted Turner, jumping out of airplanes over Kansas, hang gliding off the cliffs of Mexico, bungee jumping atop a tower in San Antonio and swimming with the sharks in the Caribbean,” Sager told I.J. Rosenberg of AJC.com.

“I have run the bases with Hank Aaron after No. 715, thrown out the first pitch at Wrigley Field, graced the cover of ‘Sports Illustrated’ and received the Jimmy V perseverance Award at the ESPY’s,” he continued.

“I have covered eight Olympiads, dozens of Super Bowls, 24 Masters and NBA games too numerous to count.”

Craig Sager is known for his loud and colorful suits, his always cheerful smile and kind demeanor to most who watch him on TV — but to the ones that worked alongside him and been interviewed by him, they see a noble, kind man that refuses to give up.

“I continue to live life full of love and full of fun the only way I know how,” said Sager.

He wouldn't have it any other way.
