The Crash Bandicoot franchise triumphantly returned to the gaming world with the release of the N.Sane Trilogy in 2017. The big remake started a wave of classic PlayStation 1 title remakes including Crash Team Racing and Spyro the Dragon. Additionally, it sparked interest in the development of a proper follow-up to Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped. Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time spun its way onto the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One but it's about time for the title to expand its wings.

Crash Bandicoot 4 release date on PS5, Xbox Series X, Switch: March 12

Crash remake and sequel developers Toys for Bob announced the release of their latest Crash title for the PlayStation 5, both current-gen Xbox machines, and the Nintendo Switch on March 12. The PS5 and Xbox Series X version will natively run at 4K 60FPS. Subsequently, the Xbox Series S version will run at 60FPS with upscale to 4k. Toys for Bob anticipates load times to be much shorter for the next-generation versions of Crash 4. Fortunately for early Crash 4 owners, players that have purchased the title on PS4 or BOX can upgrade to the next-generation version at no extra cost.

Toys for Bob noted that the game will make its way to the PC platform sometime in 2021. However, Crash 4 won't be available on Steam like its predecessor, the N.Sane Trilogy. Crash 4 PC will be available exclusively on Battle.net. The PC exclusivity for Battle.net undoubtedly comes from the fact that the game was published by Activision.

Fans eagerly await the release of the game for the PlayStation 5. Toys for Bob claim the title will make full use of the DualSense's adaptive triggers. Undoubtedly, the PS5 version will offer a unique experience. The PlayStation and Xbox Series version of Crash Bandicoot 4  run for USD 59.99. Switch players hoping for a new Crash adventure can get their copy for USD 39.99.
