Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Bryce Young is set for arguably the biggest test of his season in his team's 2021 SEC Championship Game against the No. 1 ranked Georgia Bulldogs.

Young is just coming off of the performance against the Auburn Tigers where, although he had a difficult time in facilitating promising drives for much of the contest, he did lead the reigning SEC champions to a late game-tying touchdown and the eventual win in the fourth overtime.

For Georgia head coach Kirby Smart, he has been much impressed with Young's vast development over the season, from his opening showing against the Miami Hurricanes to last week's adversity-filled outing in the clash with rival Auburn.

In speaking on Thursday ahead of the upcoming SEC title game, Smart took some time to laud the sophomore quarterback.

“Bryce (Young) is just elite with his touch, his accuracy, decision-making,” Smart said. “His release is so quick. I told our players he's got tremendous spatial awareness. He sees the field really well. He feels things and understands where holes are in coverage.”

Not only are Alabama's College Football Playoff aspirations on the line this week, but Young's chances at a possible 2021 Heisman Trophy win could also be in jeopardy.

A potent performance from Young against the top-ranked defense in all the FBS could very well secure him the most prestigious individual honor in college football. But if he fails to deliver on the biggest stage in SEC football, it sure would open the door for talents such as Michigan defensive end Aidan Hutchinson to become the favorite for the award with a keen showing in the 2021 Big Ten Championship Game against the No. 13 ranked Iowa Hawkeyes.
