The Crusader Kings 3 release date for its console version has finally been announced! And based on early impressions, the game plays really well on consoles.

Crusader Kings 3 Release Date: March 29, 2022, on Consoles

Crusader Kings 3 is coming out on PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X on March 29, 2022. Usually, grand strategy games stick to their guns on their PC releases. Hence, it was very surprising when Paradox Interactive went full bonkers and announced a console version for their generational legacy-building feudal Europe simulation game.

There are already early impressions for a pre-release build of the game. Paradox Interactive has apparently done the impossible. According to some of these early impressions, the game works very well on consoles! Of course, Paradox had to change things up to make the game control appropriately on consoles. The console version makes use of radial menus a lot, which should compensate for the lack of cursors. Not only does the game run smoothly on consoles, but it also controls well! What a feat.

Crusader Kings 3 was originally released on PC in 2020, building upon the franchise's grand strategy foundations and making a game that does what it does spectacularly. The game was well-received by critics and was nominated for Best Strategy/Simulation Game in TGA 2021. However, it lost to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2021.
