Conor McGregor visited Wrigley Field Tuesday to watch the Chicago Cubs face the Minnesota Twins. Needless to say, the Cubs won't be calling up McGregor to pitch anytime soon.

The Irishman threw out the first pitch at Tuesday's game. Let's just say it was a bit off the plate:

The awful first pitch is made even funnier by the fact that McGregor was out there in a full suit. He surely had so much confidence when he stepped out on that mound, and then he wasn't even close. Juuuuuuuuust a bit outside (or inside, depending on the hitter).

Naturally, Conor McGregor had some fun with it, calling it “the most devastating first pitch ever seen in the iconic Wrigley Field.” He had more to say during the Cubs broadcast:

McGregor is currently still rehabbing after the horrific leg injury he suffered in his last fight. Perhaps that had some impact on the truly awful mechanics that he showed off on Tuesday, which featured his front leg stepping more toward third base than home plate. This would help explain why the ball went flying in the direction of Chicago's dugout.

On top of this, McGregor also performed a horrendous rendition of Take Me Out To The Ballgame:

At the very least, these McGregor moments provided a bit of levity in a Cubs season that has been mostly depressing. After a hot start to the campaign, Chicago fell apart and traded away a number of star players in order to kick off a rebuilding phase. While there have been some fun bright spots of late like Patrick Wisdom and Frank Schwindel, it has still been tough for Cubs fans to swallow this season after years as a top contender in the National League.
