Javier Baez has become one of the most dangerous bats in baseball and that was on display once again against the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday afternoon. The Chicago Cubs have been handing it to the Rockies all afternoon and Baez added to that with a massive home run that he smashed and admired.

There are some who may be wondering just how far that home run flew. That ball traveled 460 feet after leaving Baez's bat. He simply crushed it and there was no doubt from the beginning that the ball would get out.

Baez has been having a massive season with the Cubs. That home run was his 17th of the season and he has also driven in 46 runs. Those numbers have put him in early contention for the NL MVP award once again.

Chicago has gone from a slow start to the season to being viewed as a legitimate championship contender. Joe Maddon and company have to feel very good about their offensive talent. They also went out and signed star closer Craig Kimbrel, who will join the team at some point in the near future.

If Baez is able to continue hitting the ball the way he has so far this season, the Cubs are going to see him as a front-runner for the MVP award. Unfortunately, Milwaukee Brewers' superstar Christian Yelich has been having an amazing season.

The Cubs needed a big win this afternoon and Baez and company were able to get the job done.
