If CD Projekt Red is to be believed, Cyberpunk 2077 release is still the strongest in 2020.

CYBERPUNK 2077 RELEASE THE BIGGEST IN 2020 IN SPITE OF REFUNDS

In a recent investors report, CD Projekt Red (CDPR) executives revealed that Cyberpunk 2077 sold over 13 million copies. CDPR says this is still on top of the refunds made by unsatisfied customers. This also includes all in-progress refund requests mailed to the company, CDPR concluded the report. Sony's and Microsoft's decision to pull the game out of their storefronts didn't affect CDPR's bottom line, either. Of course, neither did the countless game-breaking bugs and negative reception it has received at launch for the console release.

These figures are also only representative of sales until December 20, 2020. This means that Cyberpunk 2077 release figures will continue to grow, as gamers are sure to pick the game up on a discount during the holidays. While it's not offered on sale on Steam in spite of the Steam Winter Sale, Epic Games Store, or GOG.com, many gamers will still consider it as a top choice to get these holidays.

While CDPR didn't release estimates on how much money they've made, we can work around their sales figures instead. According to their report, there are 13 million copies (both digital and physical) still in possession of gamers. Not considering the collector's edition of the game, CDPR averages $50 a copy for Cyberpunk 2077. With this price, we arrive at an estimated revenue of at least $650 million from the Cyberpunk 2077 release.
