After breaking a bone in his back during the preseason, Tony Romo made his grand return to Cowboys practice on Tuesday. Rather than feeling threatened by Romo's presence, rookie Dak Prescott has taken the situation in stride.

Under Prescott, Dallas has excelled this season. After a Week 1 loss, the Cowboys have ripped off five straight wins. Their biggest test of the season comes Sunday night, as they battle with the 4-2 Philadelphia Eagles.

Prescott will get the start, but his status moving forward isn't set in stone with Romo waiting in the wings.

Supportive teammate

The looming QB decision has been covered immensely by the media, both in Dallas and nationally. So far, Prescott has handled it maturely, saying all of the right things when discussing his veteran teammate.

Here's Prescott's take on Romo's first three days of practice, from Nunzio Ingrassia of FOX Sports:

“He’s looked sharp every time we get out there,” Prescott said of Romo. “That’s a vet who takes care of himself and is going to get back healthy and is doing all the right things to do that.”

Ball security

One of the biggest factors that Dallas' coaches and front office members must take into account is ball security. Even at his peak, Romo has been known to turn the ball over quite a bit, whether it be throwing interceptions or fumbling after sacks. Surprisingly, Prescott has demonstrated a calm demeanor in the pocket, only throwing one pick through his first six games.

If the Cowboys win again this week, it's hard to see them replacing Prescott. But, if they do turn to Romo, they certainly don't have to worry about Dak supporting him.
