The Dallas Cowboys are riding high as they enter a Week 9 matchup with the Denver Broncos, and they'll be highly favored as long as franchise quarterback Dak Prescott is healthy and available to play. Still, though, even a team as explosive as Dallas can't take a team with the skill position weapons and defensive talent that Denver has lightly. As such, we've got some bold predictions for this Cowboys-Broncos matchup.

The Cowboys are 6-1 after escaping with a victory led by backup QB Cooper Rush over the Minnesota Vikings, which just speaks to how much their defense and overall team infrastructure have improved last season. Holding a team with Kirk Cousins, Dalvin Cook, Justin Jefferson, and Adam Thielen to only 16 points is quite the feat. Additionally, both Amari Cooper and Ceedee Lamb eclipsed 100 yards receiving as they cooked the Vikings secondary.

Now that Prescott is back and looks to be starting, it would take a perfect gameplan from the Broncos to take down this cruising Cowboys squad. With that in mind, here are 4 bold predictions for this Week 9 matinee.

Cowboys Week 9 Predictions

4. Dak Prescott returns with a vengeance

Prescott missed Week 8 with a minor injury, but he's back now and ready to pick up where he left off in Week 6, which was an amazing 445 yard, 3 TD performance against the New England Patriots. It seems like he's just now hitting his stride after missing so much time with the brutal ankle injury he suffered last year, and it's a great sight to see him carving up opposing secondaries. Even though CeeDee Lamb's outlook for this game is questionable, the Cowboys still have no shortage of weapons for Dak to throw to. Big game incoming.

3. Cowboys sack Teddy Bridgewater a whopping 5 times

The Washington Football Team was able to get through for 4 sacks against the Bronos in their last contest, and the Cowboys defense, even more aggressive, is going to have that in mind this Sunday. Dan Quinn is going to dial up plenty of heat as Dallas aims to force some takeaways, and they'll be impossible to hold down all night.

2. Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard combine for 200 scrimmage yards

After the Broncos traded away Von Miller to the Los Angeles Rams this week, the Broncos now have very little presence among their front 7. They've been leaky against the run, regardless, in recent weeks, which doesn't bode well for them as the Cowboys have one of the best running back tandems in the league with Zeke and Pollard. Dallas can slice through any defense with a power run game, crafty screens, swing passes, and pretty much every play involving running backs you can think of. It's going to be a brutal game for Denver's defensive front.

1. Cowboys blow Denver out of the water

The Broncos started off the 2021 season with a blazing 3-0 start, but the wheels have been falling off ever since. This matchup is among the most lopsided of this Sunday's slate, and it will play out in practice exactly how it looks on paper.
