With a Dallas Mavericks Game 6 scheduled at the Utah Jazz, the pressure will be on the home team to stay alive. There's no denying that the Mavericks put on a scoring clinic in Game 5 and completely took the Jazz out of their element. In Luka Doncic's second game back from a strained calf, the Mavericks seized control from start to finish. Their defense on Utah was absolutely smothering and ultimately led them to a blowout win. Jason Kidd's coaching adjustments and unmatched defensive schemes allowed Dallas to excel on that end of the floor. As we look ahead to the next game, we reveal our Mavericks Jazz Game 6 predictions.

Dallas Mavericks Game 6 Predictions vs. Utah Jazz

1. Jalen Brunson will continue to shine for the Mavs

As a reliable combo guard and pit bull defender, Jalen Brunson has elevated his play to another level in this year's playoffs. During the Mavericks first round series against the Jazz, Brunson has averaged 28.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 0.6 steals per game while shooting 47.7% from the field. Add to that his heroic 41-point performance in Game 2 where Dallas hit a franchise playoff record 22 three-pointer's.

His star turn for Dallas during the 2022 NBA Playoffs has also given him a ton of leverage with his impending free agency in the fold. Regardless, Brunson's play lately has been phenomenal for the Mavericks and in Game 6 he'll look to keep it up as they inch closer to eliminating the Jazz.

2. Luka Doncic will takeover in the 4th quarter

Over his last two games, Doncic has averaged 31.5 points on 51% shooting to go along with 11.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game. In Dallas' rout of Utah in Game 5, Doncic led the team in scoring, rebounds, and assists and it became apparent from the start that the Jazz had no answer for him.

This just further goes to show how much of a generational talent “Cool Hand Luka” truly is. Coming off another stellar performance where he posted 33 points, 13 rebounds, and 5 assists on 11-of-22 shooting, Doncic is bound to have another big night against the Jazz. So be on the lookout for him to completely take over in the fourth quarter of Game 6.

3. The Mavericks will win and eliminate the Jazz in Game 6

After reclaiming control of this series with a statement win in Game 5, the Mavs will look to continue this trend against the Jazz in Game 6. On Thursday night, Luka Doncic and the Mavericks will aim to win their first playoffs series since 2011. Which was also when they won their first and only NBA championship.

They may not go on a title run this year, but then again the unpredictability of this year's NBA playoffs opens up all kinds of crazy possibilities. On the flip side, the Mavs will be giving the Jazz a steady dose 3-point shooting, lockdown defense, and elite ball movement that will give them all sorts of headaches. This in-turn will lead to a dominant win for the Mavericks and another early playoff exit for the Jazz.
