Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard is a baller on the court and an excellent rapper off the court. J. Cole is a star rapper and pretty good at basketball in his own right. It's only natural that J. Cole sampled Dame on his new album, The Off-Season, which just came out on Friday.
Dame appears on p u n c h i n ‘ . t h e . c l o c k. Here's the audio:
Fellow Portland Trail Blazers star CJ McCollum offered up his review of the album on Twitter after Thursday night's loss to the Phoenix Suns, and he had to chime in on the Damian Lillard sample. Of course, Dame also had to give his own reaction and heartily endorsed the album:
💯 Cole a real one… album 🔥🔥 https://t.co/4ZBEfFVZtG

There's an NBA influence all over The Off-Season. In addition to Dame appearing on the album, there are also references to LeBron James and Ja Morant. J. Cole loves the NBA and is currently set to participate in the Basketball Africa League, so it's no surprise to see so many references sprinkled throughout the album.
Damian Lillard is clearly appreciative of his involvement with The Off-Season. He also retweeted this post:
