WWE 2K Battlegrounds is an arcade-type video game that features notable personalities from the professional wrestling entertainment company which was previously released back in September of 2020.

Lillard was given a character in the game due to him reportedly being a huge fan of WWE. On the other hand, Gronkowski spent his time appearing on the squared-circle as a featured wrestler during his one-year hiatus away from the gridiron.

He previously served as the host of Wrestlemania 36 back in April of 2020 and ensuingly snagged the WWE 24/7 championship a day later. The three-time Super Bowl champion's part-time stint in the WWE was cut short after he eventually announced his comeback on the field as a player for the Buccaneers ahead of the 2020 NFL season.

2K Sports is hoping that the addition of Lillard and Gronkowski's characters in the game would help bring basketball, football, and wrestling fans to enjoy the WWE 2K Battlegrounds video game altogether.
