Since Kevin Durant made the decision to join the Golden State Warriors last summer, Damian Lillard has been quite vocal about his standing with the Portland Trail Blazers.

In fact, he has repeatedly made it clear he wants to win with the Trail Blazers instead of jumping ship to a super team like the Warriors. When he was recently asked by a fan on Twitter about whether he would join the Golden State as their sixth man, the All-Star point guard gave a definitive response.

Lillard is a headstrong superstar player that wants to build something special with the Trail Blazers and not leave the franchise to follow suit to what Durant decided to do when he signed with the Warriors last July. He has become the face of the franchise for the Trail Blazers over the first five years of his career while developing into one of the top point guards in the league.

Although Portland struggled this past season, he and C.J. McCollum have formed one of the top backcourts in the league while making the franchise in a playoff team. That said, the front office has the task of addressing the need to acquire more veteran talent to help them maximize the ability of their backcourt.

More importantly,  the Trail Blazers can hold solace in the fact that their star point guard is committed to the organization long term.
