A lot of people now believe that a boxing match between Jake Paul and Daniel Cormier could be on the horizon following their confrontation at UFC 261 on Saturday. While no formal discussions about a possible match have been discussed by both camps, fight odds have already been released on Sunday.

As expected, the UFC legend opened up as a -500 favorite, while the YouTuber-turned-boxer is a +350 underdog.

Those odds seem about right. If this was an MMA match, though, no doubt Paul should be an even bigger underdog.

But since the hypothetical fight will be in a boxing ring, some fans are actually giving Jake Paul a fighting chance. Sure, Paul knocked out a retired NBA player and an ex-UFC fighter. But c'mon now, this is Daniel Cormier we're talking about.

There are levels to this game and Paul would be taking a gigantic leap if he somehow convinces the former two-division champion to come out of retirement and box him.

Some may point out that Cormier does share the same Olympic-wrestling background as Ben Askren, who Paul just destroyed in less than one round. But unlike Askren who never sharpened his hands, Cormier actually evolved into one of the best boxers in the UFC during his prime.

Say what you want about Daniel Cormier's hefty physique, this man possesses both technique and power. People often forget he has a knockout win over Stipe Miocic in their first encounter in the octagon. If DC can do that to The Baddest Man in the Planet, what do you think he'll do to an internet personality who decided he wanted to become a boxer?

Jake Paul has no business sharing the same ring as Cormier. As far as most fight fans are concerned, those odds should be even greater in Cormier's favor.
