The Boston Celtics will always have a special place in the heart of Kevin Garnett, and vice versa, for obvious reasons.

Garnett won his single championship in Boston and the title conquest also was the franchise’s first in more than two decades. This year, the Celtics are once again among the top Eastern Conference teams thanks to the addition of all-star center Al Horford to an already formidable roster.

The team’s General Manager in Danny Ainge could not help but gush when comparing his new prized slotman to the team’s former top big.

To name a few, both are no-nonsense type of players who are fundamentally sound. They are also as effective in their post game and from mid-range.

Horford is still in his prime and he can very well duplicate Kevin Garnett’s success in a few year’s time, as he has for himself a young, talented, and rather experienced core. The scary part, the Celtics are still bound to improve further with at least one possible lottery pick on their way in the next few years.
