The Western Conference Finals pits the high octane offense of the Golden State Warriors against the defensive minded San Antonio Spurs. Those two dynamics were showcased immediately in the opening minutes of the first quarter of Game 1 between the Spurs and Warriors at Oracle Arena on Sunday.

Golden State is one of the best transition teams in the entire league and they came down on a fast break early in the first quarter, which ended with Warriors All-Star point guard and two-time MVP Stephen Curry wide open. Curry had what appeared to be an easy layup for two points yet out of nowhere, Spurs shooting guard Danny Green entered the play with a chase down block on the Warriors All-Star from behind.

An impressive block by Green on an All-NBA talent in Curry.

Green is one of the better defenders on the Spurs and San Antonio will need him to bring it on the defensive end if they hope to have a chance against the Warriors in the best of seven series.
