The Orlando Magic caused quite a stir when a photo of Patricio Garino surfaced after he signed with the team. However, it was not his signing that was much talked about, but the list on the whiteboard behind him, which had the names of players the team will target come summertime.

One of them is Philadelphia 76ers big man Dario Saric, whose name was under the list of “hybrid trades.” It is also interesting to find out that the team is apparently willing to give up their promising young forward, Aaron Gordon, for the services of the 22-year-old Croatian international.

What's ironic is that the Magic originally drafted him back in 2014 but decided to move Saric to the Sixers in exchange for their starting point guard, Elfrid Payton. Saric was recently asked to share his thoughts on finding out the team that selected him may be showing interest in acquiring him once again. He said he has no ill feelings against Orlando, via Keith Pompey of Philly.com, but also reminded them that they had the chance to keep him three years ago.

“It’s OK. Every team [has] got rights to think about their future, to put it on board. But to comment, I don’t have something. It’s OK. To me, you are doing good if they have you on [their] mind, like an option.”

“They [traded] me. That’s life. … Sometimes you can have some option in life, you choose another one. They chose one way. I chose my own way.”

Saric has been a revelation this season has emerged as the favorite to win the Rookie of the Year Award. He is averaging impressive numbers of 12.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 2.2 assists in only 26.5 minutes per game. More importantly, he has held his own and proved that he belongs in the NBA, and now, even drawing serious interest from another team as well.
