Without Jeff Teague in their lineup now, the Indiana Pacers did not waste time finding a replacement for him, and quickly took to the free agent market. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Darren Collison has agreed to a two-year, $20 million deal with the Pacers which will bring the 6-foot UCLA product back to Indianapolis.

Following his rookie season in 2009 with the then-New Orleans Hornets, Collison was traded to the Pacers and went on to play for the team the next two seasons. He made a name for himself as one of the better young guards in the league that time and impressively ran the offense for them. However, he was once again traded, to the Dallas Mavericks in 2012, as George Hill emerged as a capable starter for the Pacers.

Collison spent the last two years with the Sacramento Kings, and was their undisputed starter this past season. Although he was suspended for the first eight games due to domestic violence charges he pleaded guilty to, those were the only matches he missed, and had a solid campaign with averages of 14.0 points, 2.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.0 steals per game.

Now back with the Pacers, he will have the opportunity to raise his game even higher, and play alongside a very talented lineup of Victor Oladipo, Monta Ellis and Myles Turner. Despite only being 29-years-old, he will also serve as one of the veterans of the team, and is expected to be a leader for them on and off the court.
