New York Knicks head coach David Fizdale has cleared the air on Kristaps Porzingis' rehabilitation from an ACL injury. Earlier reports say that Fizdale believed that Porzingis is not yet close to sprinting, to which the Latvian superstar answered through an Instagram Story post of a picture of him recently running around an oval.

ESPN's Ian Begley tweeted out Fizdale's statements on him being caught unaware of his player's rehab progress, and how he and Porzingis have already talked it out with each other.

David Fizdale said he wasn't aware that Kristaps Porzingis has been sprinting. He spoke to Porzingis about it today and said they are on the same page and in a good place.

Then Begley followed it up with another tweet, this time about Fizdale's comments on Porzingis' Instagram post.

David Fizdale said he thought Kristaps Porzingis’ Instagram post was a result of frustration over the perception that he wasn’t working hard during his ACL rehab. “He took it personally. It got to him that people would think that.” Again, Fizdale and Porzingis spoke this morning.

It's a bit bewildering how Fizdale wasn't able to get hold of updates on his star player's development. That's not a knock on Fizdale as the 44-year old outspoken coach is focused on making the most of his available players, instead of sulking about Porzingis' absence.

The Knicks are currently on a 4-8 standing, obviously missing Porzingis' production on both ends of the floor.

Porzingis averaged 22.7 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.4 blocks and a 40% clip from beyond the arc last season before going down with the ACL injury.
