Yet another Chicago Bears player has found themselves in trouble with the law. Bears wide receiver David Moore was reportedly arrested in Texas on July 4. According to KXII, Moore was arrested over the holiday weekend in Gainesville, TX on drug and weapons charges. He was being held in the Cooke County Jail before getting released after posting his bond worth $5,000 on Monday.

Moore is now the third Bears player who has been arrested during the offseason. In addition to Moore, wide receiver Byron Pringle was arrested for reckless driving back in April, and in late June, linebacker Matt Adams was arrested and charged with misdemeanor illegal gun possession charge, as well as possession of a high-capacity magazine.

All three were players that were brought in under first-year GM Ryan Poles' new regime, signaling a worrying start to his era as the Bears' general manager.

Moore joined the Bears this offseason on a one-year deal worth $1.035 million. He spent the 2021 season with the Green Bay Packers and Denver Broncos but failed to see much game action.

His best NFL season came back in 2020 with the Seattle Seahawks, when he hauled in 35 receptions, 417 yards, and 6 touchdowns. In all, he's featured in a total of 50 games throughout his NFL career and has 78 receptions and 13 touchdowns. After an unproductive 2021, Moore was looking to step into a bigger role with the Bears this year.

The 27-year-old Gainesville native played college football at East Central University in Oklahoma before getting drafted by the Seahawks in the seventh round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

The Bears have yet to release an official statement regarding the arrest of Moore.
