Conor McGregor's trip to the Cubs game has been quite a disaster. Even Cubs manager David Ross spoke out about a big regret he had.

Conor McGregor's first pitch was one of the worst in history, he then went on to sing ‘Take me out to the ball game' which only added to the embarrassment. The whole affair was not a good one for the Irishman.

Now David Ross has spoken to the Daily Herald about a big regret he had from Conor McGregor's visit. Conor McGregor visited the locker room and got to meet the players, something David Ross admits may have been a bad move considering COVID-19 safety standards.

“That's probably more on me,” David Ross said. “The guys were excited [about meeting McGregor,] I let that happen. So I think that's an area where I let my guard down and probably shouldn't have. So I'll take responsibility for that.

“I haven't heard if Conor is positive or not. We haven't kept in touch. But we're traveling, we're around strangers every single day, so I think it's hard to know for anybody where it actually comes from. The Conor stuff should be on my plate. I should be better.”

It's fair to say Conor McGregor's visit to the Cubs will be one to forget. Not only was the event itself an embarrassing one for the UFC star, but even the aftermath also had its issues according to David Ross.

It's unclear when Conor McGregor plans on returning to the cage. The Irishman is still healing up from his injuries sustained against Dustin Poirier.
