De'Aaron Fox will represent the Sacramento Kings at the 2020 NBA Draft Lottery, per Zach Lowe of ESPN.

The Kings missed the playoffs this season and went 31-41. The franchise hasn't been to the postseason since 2006. They have the longest playoff drought in the NBA.

De'Aaron Fox appeared in 51 games for the Kings this season. The lefty point guard averaged 21.1 points, 3.8 rebounds and 6.8 assists while shooting 48.0 percent from the field, 29.2 percent from beyond the arc and 70.5 percent from the free throw line.

The Kings franchise is still recovering from its 2018 draft blunder. Vlade Divac, who recently stepped down from his general manager post, took Marvin Bagley III out of Duke with the second overall pick instead of selecting Luka Doncic.

Bagley has only played in 75 games with the Kings since getting drafted. He's putting up 14.8 points and 7.6 boards.

Doncic, meanwhile, is already a superstar with the Dallas Mavericks, has the Mavs in the 2020 playoffs and figures to be an MVP candidate for the rest of his career. The Wonder Boy is putting up 24.7 points, 8.5 rebounds and 7.3 assists in the NBA.

Moving forward, the new regime in Sacramento has to make wiser decisions in the draft room. Fox was a good pick for the Kings in 2017. He's expected to sign a lucrative rookie-scale extension this offseason. The 22-year-old is averaging 16.2 points and 6.1 assists with the Kings.
