De'Aaron Fox visits Kings for possible workout

On Monday, star draft pick De’Aaron Fox visited them and is believed to have met with their coaching staff and front office personnel.

As this year’s draft is nearing, teams who have top picks are now busy working out prospects who they are looking to select in the lottery. One of them are the Sacramento Kings, who own the fifth and 10th pick, and are looking to bring in more young, talented players to add to their core.

On Monday, De’Aaron Fox visited them and is believed to have met with their coaching staff and front office personnel. It’s no secret that they want a point guard that can be part of their future plans, as well as run their offense effectively. After their failed experiments, when they had Rajon Rondo for one season and played this year with Darren Collison starting for them, the Kings are planning to boost their rotation at that position and possibly bring in a highly-touted prospect.

Based on Instagram posts of Fox, it seems that he is excited about the idea of playing for the team, as he can develop his game further, together with their young players. It’s also worth noting that the said posts have been deleted now as the Kings have not released an official statement about him working out with them.

Fox played very well in his lone season in Kentucky and showed his all around game with averages of 16.7 points, 3.9 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.5 steals per game. However, if there’s something he can improve on, it’s his shooting from beyond the arc, as he only made 24.6 percent from that distance.

It remains to be seen if he’ll still be available for the Kings with the fifth pick, but it can be expected that the team will waste no time in selecting him if he’s still on the board, especially if they’re satisfied with what they see in him during a potential private workout.
