Welcome to an edition of cool people with bad ideas. Deion Sanders, my generation's greatest cornerback-turned-rapper, believes the Denver Broncos should go after New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning.

And. I. Am. Dead.

“You’re very familiar with the Manning family, especially Archie,” Sanders said on the NFL Network. “Call him. It worked with Peyton. Let’s free Eli from the Giants. The Giants ain’t going nowhere. Free Eli, send him to Denver.”

“Because the quarterbacking that they’re displaying right now, Elway has to be sick and throwing up in that wonderful luxury box he sits in during the game,” the eight-time All-Pro explained. “Free Eli, please.”

So, uh, here is the thing: Is Eli Manning still an actually good quarterback or was his career of goodness slightly extended a bit by the talent he's had at the receiver position? I ask that out of sincerity, as it seems whenever New York's best receiver is hurt, Manning turns into the Northeastern version of Jay Cutler.

When asked about Joseph’s assertion that quarterback isn’t the problem for the Broncos, Sanders disagreed wholeheartedly.

“The quarterback is the problem. They can say what they want. The quarterback is the problem,” he said.

Finally, something I can 100 percent agree with Deion Sanders about. The Broncos need to do something at the gunslinger position. Bringing in what appears to be a slightly washed quarterback, however, doesn't seem like the correct move, though.

Not to mention that I doubt the Giants would be willing to trade Manning at this point. At least not during the season and when their head coach and general manager are fighting for their jobs.
