The New Orleans Saints look set on offense but there are still some questions on defense and Deion Sanders thinks he has a solution for that, to trade for Arizona Cardinals star Patrick Peterson. The defense has looked better the last few weeks on that side of the ball, but there is no question that Peterson would make the team a lot better.

“Patrick Peterson reminds me of the ‘93 Prime,” Sanders told NFL Network via 247 Sports. “There’s a whole lot of talent, but he’s at a destination that they ain’t going nowhere because there ain’t any gas in the car. Until I went to San Francisco and won that thing, it was a whole lot different. Patrick Peterson needs to be in New Orleans.

“Sean Payton, hear me clearly: Lattimore and Patrick Peterson, maybe you’re going to the Super Bowl. With Drew Brees and them on the offensive side of the ball, you are going to the Super Bowl.”

It sounds like a good idea, but getting the trade done would be a longshot. The Cardinals would probably trade Patrick Peterson but it would take a lot more than the Saints are probably willing to give up. They are without their first and third-round pick in next years draft because of trades they already completed and they would need to make cap space for the $11 million annual salary that Peterson is owed.

The NFL trade deadline is October 30th so if the two sides wanted to work out a trade it would need to happen before that.
