Guys from the 2018 and 2019 Draft Classes have always been the go-to option for basketball card collectors. With players like Luka Doncic, Trae Young, and Ja Morant, hobbyists will never go wrong with this crop of rookie cards in the market. The thing is, there are so many other stars who are exceeding expectations, both on the court and in the hobby. Among them is none other than the San Antonio Spurs' newest All-Star, Dejounte Murray.

Murray was drafted with the 29th pick by the Spurs way back in 2016. Back then, the lanky point guard wasn't even on anyone's radar. a couple of years later and collectors see him collect triple-doubles on a consistent basis. But it isn't just Murray. There are other gems from the 2016 NBA Draft that are proving their worth in the market. Shown below are the notable cards from that particular Draft Class.

4. Domantas Sabonis rookie cards

No one expected Domantas Sabonis to break out of the mold and become one of the NBA's most talented big men in recent memory. Drafted by the Oklahoma City Thunder using the 11th pick, the 6'11” center, along with Victor Oladipo, was then sent to the Indiana Pacers during his second year in the league.

From there, Sabonis established himself and transformed into an All-Star over the course of his four and a half seasons there. Just last year, he was averaging 20.3 points, 12 rebounds, 6.7 assists, and 1.2 steals per game. More or less, Sabonis is putting up similar numbers as part of the Sacramento Kings. It remains to be seen what a full season with De'Aaron Fox as his backcourt partner can do in the West.

In the event their pairing works wonders, Sabonis' PSA 10 Prizm Silver rookie card will be the primary beneficiary. Expect its current price of $256 to go up if that happens.

3. Pascal Siakam rookie cards

Back in 2016, the Toronto Raptors' offense was run by Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan. Eventually, that pairing found its ceiling, and the latter was traded to the San Antonio Spurs for Kawhi Leonard, which resulted in the franchise's first championship.

During that time, Pascal Siakam took a leap and contributed significantly to the Raptors' Finals run in 2018. Even in his sixth season in Toronto, the power forward has been posting respectable numbers of 21.2 points, 8.4 rebounds, 5.2 assists, and 1.3 steals per game. With the kind of game he's bringing up north, it's no surprise the Raptors are fighting well to grab a spot in the playoffs.

In the coming months, Siakam will be tested whether he has what it takes to perform in the grandest stage of them all. If he manages to put on a show, expect his PSA 10 Prizm Silver rookie card to shoot up from its present value of $230.

2. Jaylen Brown rookie cards

The Boston Celtics found itself in a hard place early this season. They were under .500, there was no fight in their game, and the chemistry between teammates left a lot to be desired. Fortunately, the new year saw them rise through the standings in the East, along with the league's second-best defense. This resulted in a better record and a good chance to make some noise in the playoffs.

A good reason why the Celtics are where they are now is because of Jaylen Brown, their third pick from the 2016 NBA Draft. The All-Star wing is currently averaging 23.2 points, 6.2 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and a single steal in 33.6 minutes per game. With these numbers on a nightly basis, it isn't hard to imagine his PSA 10 Prizm Silver rookie card gaining more heat from its price of $470.

1. Dejounte Murray rookie cards

At some point in his career, Murray was already written off after suffering an ACL injury. Instead of regressing, the Spurs' point guard came back and built on his progress season after season. That hard work has culminated in him being named to the All-Star Game in Cleveland recently.

It also helps that his stint in San Antonio has everyone hyped due to the numbers he's putting up lately. In 54 games, the 25-year old point guard is posting 20.1 points, 8.3 rebounds, 9.4 assists, and a league-leading 2 steals per contest. With that kind of game, the Spurs are in good hands after the departure of DeMar DeRozan and LaMarcus Aldridge in recent years. Of course, Murray's first All-Star Game appearance also boosted his PSA 10 Prizm rookie card to $470.

With a lot of options to entertain in the market, these guys from the 2016 Draft can turn out to be sleeper hits. As the postseason draws nearer, some of these stars can potentially go higher if they put on a good show in the coming months. Better hunt for their rookie cards before their value spikes up by then.
