After almost two weeks of agony, Matthew “Dellor” Vaughn has finally recovered most of his accounts back from hackers.

DELLOR REPORTS RETRIEVAL OF HIS ACCOUNTS

Dellor reported through his Twitter account that he has finally retrieved his Tiktok, Youtube, Gmail, and Epic Games accounts. As of release time, he has yet to retrieve his Instagram account.

Meanwhile, he appears to have retrieved his bank accounts and utility accounts as well. However, the Youtube and Twitch streamer also reported that he has lost over 60% of his net worth due to the hack.

Thanks to the help of various contacts, and of course, to the streamer's persistence and patience, he was able to reclaim most of his accounts. While he is still working to get the rest of his accounts back, this is a positive outcome from what could have been a catastrophic event.

DELLOR LOSES ALMOST EVERYTHING AFTER MASSIVE HACK

The streamer first reported that he was hacked all the way back to February 2. On February 16, he reported that he lost almost everything and that includes his investments.

Still, his persistence and positive outlook helped him get through the tough times.

A CAUTIONARY TALE ABOUT ONLINE SECURITY

This story shows the importance of online security. Phishing and hacking target all kinds of people, and may even use your social media activity against you. This highlights the importance of Virtual Private Networks when surfing the net. More than anything, remember never to share any of your personal information on public websites, most especially on social media.

However, this experience also shows how positivity can help in these kinds of situations. Many people would have easily just given up hope. But as we can see from Dellor's story, you can get out of something like this. Ask for help from others and be persistent. You can still bounce back.
