The Toronto Raptors, this offseason, will face the critical task of re-signing All-Star Kyle Lowry, who is set to become an unrestricted free agent next month.

However, his fellow All-Star teammate DeMar DeRozan stated during an interview with TSN Radio in Vancouver that he wouldn't get involved in Lowry's free-agency decision next month.

It is likely Lowry did the same last offseason when DeRozan was a free agent and elected to re-sign with the Raptors on a lucrative max contract of five-years for $139 million. This is an approach that may draw some angst from fans, but it does come down to a personal choice of where he wants to play on the next chapter of his career.

To be fair, Lowry knows what to expect if he were to return to the Raptors, who are a playoff team but are still a notch below the Cleveland Cavaliers and possibly even the Boston Celtics. They have had two consecutive postseason exits at the hands of the Cavaliers with the latter coming in a four-game sweep in the Eastern Conference semifinals.

That said, Toronto is the only team that can offer him a five-year deal that is worth north of $200 million. It could be quite an intriguing free-agency process for Lowry next month that could have many twists and turns.
