Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins confronted Sacramento Bee columnist Andy Furillo, yelling expletives at him and refusing to speak to the media present in the locker room after Monday night's win against the Los Angeles Lakers.

The columnist had written about the bar fight which Cousins and teammate Matt Barnes were involved in earlier in the month, where he mentioned the arrest of Cousins' brother, Jaleel, who plays for the Dallas Mavericks D-League affiliate Texas Legends.

As seen in the footage provided by the newspaper, Cousins's tone was direct and threatening.

“We're gonna have some real f****** issues,” said Cousins looking down at Furillo. “Don't ever mention my brother again. You don't know my f****** brother. F****** coward.”

“You say whatever the f*** you want to say about me, but don't mention my m*****f*****g family.”

In his column, Furillo suggested that Cousins should stop hanging out at clubs after his most recent incident, which resulted in a lawsuit. The plaintiffs allege Barnes choked a woman and Cousins sucker-punched her boyfriend, while Kings players say the couple instigated the incident.

This is hardly the first time the big man has tried to intimidate the media, as he's taken a particular interest negating Leo Beas, the Managing Editor of Cowbell Kingdom, a division of TrueHoop that focuses on coverage of the Kings.

Cousins went as far as saying “There's no quotes for you… if he's here, I'm not talking.”

The NBA is aware of the incident this week and Cousins could be penalized for his actions, according to USA TODAY's Sam Amick.

The team has also released a statement about the incident:

“We are committed to being open and transparent, and any hint of media censorship is unacceptable. There is an ongoing review into this matter, and we will take the appropriate steps immediately upon its conclusion.”
