Demon Slayer Hinokami Chronicles Switch Release Date: June 10, 2022

Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles will be arriving on the Switch platform on June 10, 2022. This marks the game's debut on any Nintendo console, expanding its range from the PS5, PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S platforms.

The game brings the anime's colorful cast of characters, following the protagonist Tanjiro Kamado and the Demon Slayer corps as they fight to stop demons from attacking innocent people. In the Taisho period in Japan, Tanjiro's family is massacred by a demon, with his younger sister Nezuko as the sole survivor, except that she has been transformed into a demon. Tanjiro joins the Corps to turn Nezuko back into her human form and avenge the death of his family.

The video game offers two game modes: the Adventure mode that closely follows the story of the popular anime (highlighting the Unwavering Resolve arc and Mugen Train arc) and allows you to take up the sword as Tanjiro; and the Versus mode where you experience the thrill of combat and overcome challengers in an online or offline setup in a battle arena style.

Learn a whole range of combat skills, including the famed Water Breathing technique under Sakonji Urokodaki. In the latter mode, players can choose from 18 characters. Aside from Tanjiro and his sister (and their Kimetsu Academy versions), you could play as the boy in the fox mask, Sabito, or the Insect Breathing Hashira, Shinobu Kocho.

To complement the experience further, the original Japanese and English casts from the anime also add their authentic voice portrayals into Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles. Whether you're here for the heartfelt tale or to master your skills against the demons, this seems like a title you wouldn't miss out on if you're a fan of the anime, and luckily its Switch release will soon arrive in the mid-way point of the year.
