The first non-mobile video game based on popular anime Kimetsu no Yaiba will be coming to the West later this year. Titled Demon Slayer – Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles, the game releases on October 15, 2021.

SEGA will be bringing CyberConnect2‘s Demon Slayer – Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles to the West later this year. The Demon Slayer game release date is on October 15, 2021, on Steam, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. A Digital Deluxe Edition will release two days earlier on October 13, 2021. It will also let you get a head-start in the game's progression system. If you have the Digital Deluxe Edition, then you can already start downloading the game now.

From what we've seen in the trailer, the game looks amazing. It's nothing ground-breaking, but this doesn't look like your cookie-cutter obligatory video game made off the popularity of an anime series. It does look like it's well-polished, and the gameplay doesn't look too shabby either. The game's story will follow the story of the anime and will have you battle the same demons protagonist Tanjiro Kamado fought in the show. If you've watched the Demon Slayer Mugen Train film from last year, then you pretty much already know what you're getting here, story-wise.

In terms of features, the trailer doesn't give out too much information. The Demon Slayer Deluxe Edition package refers to character unlock keys – suggesting that you can play characters other than Tanjiro. The more recent trailers showcase the game's VS gameplay, showing off the other characters that you can play as.
