Derek Fisher, most famous as an L.A. Laker, is a man of many controversies. The former New York Knicks coach and former five-time NBA champion with the Lakers has now been arrested under DUI suspicions after he crashed his 2015 Cadillac. As the California Highway Patrol reported, the crash happened at about 3 a.m. on the 101 freeway in California.

Fisher was in the car with his current girlfriend and former wife of Warriors forward Matt Barnes, Gloria Govan, and both of them had no injuries. When the police arrived on the scene, both were pulled from the car and dragged to safety, where it was determined that Fisher had been drinking after an investigation.

Fisher was of course, most recently, the coach of the New York Knicks from 2014-16, and that was his only non-player involvement in the league. He is mostly remembered for his integral part of five championships in Los Angeles, after which he had stints in Golden State, Utah, the Lakers again, OKC, Dallas and then OKC again.

However, he might be most remembered by the altercation he had with Matt Barnes. They were teammates in L.A. for two seasons, and Barnes is the ex-husband of Fishers current girlfriend, Gloria Govan. They apparently had a physical incident while Fisher was coach of the Knicks and Barnes got suspended for two games without pay for the incident.
