After a four-game absence, Dallas Mavericks point guard Deron Williams “will give it a go” Wednesday night against the Boston Celtics, according to Earl Sneed of Fox Sports.

The Mavericks will try to extend a seven-game winning streak against the Celtics with help from Williams' services.

“I've been out for the last four games, so I've been dealing with some things,” Williams told Sneed. “But I should be alright tonight.”

Williams was a participant on some 3-on-3 drills Tuesday and his calf seemed to respond well.

Dallas has used a combo lineup of J.J. Barea and Seth Curry during his absence, which has gotten the job done despite a 2-2 record without him in the lineup.

Williams has posted averages of 15 points on 41.5 percent shooting from the floor and from deep, along with 5.8 assists and 0.8 steals in 35.4 minutes of action.

Forward Dirk Nowitzki is expected to sit once again for his fifth consecutive game due to a sore achilles, according to ESPN's Tim MacMahon.

Dwight Powell will likely start once again in his absence while rookie Dorian Finney-Smith gets added minutes off the bench.
