After recent news of Derrick Rose being found not liable in the gang-rape civil suit that's ensnared his activity for the past two weeks, he is now bound to miss the last two preseason games for the New York Knicks, head coach Jeff Hornacek told ESPN.

Rose has only played in one preseason game, combining for five missed preseason games and seven practices due to him tending to his lawsuit.

Hornacek expects Rose to be back on Friday for an informal workout and to get up to speed with the coaching staff on several points of the offense.

He's expected to have full practices with the team before their season opener against the Cleveland Cavaliers, on Tuesday, Oct. 25.

Hornacek has integrated more elements into his triangle offense as he's seen the team play through the preseason. The 6-foot-3 guard will have a lot to catch up on, which will likely carry on to the regular season.

“It would've been nice if he was here and played and got in a rhythm with guys,” Hornacek said. “We do have some days of practice before the first game. Even after the Cleveland game, we'll have time to do things.”

Backup point guard Brandon Jennings will get some extra minutes on the floor through Rose's absence.
