The L.A. Clippers are without a viable starting point guard after Chris Paul signed with the Houston Rockets in free agency. They got into talks with EuroLeague standout Milos Teodosic, but it appears that a better option has come around.

A Twitter user asked the L.A. Times' Brad Turner for a status on the negotiations between the Clippers and the Serbian sensation, but Turner replied that a more proven NBA veteran is now at the top of the team's list: Derrick Rose.

Rose's accomplishments in the NBA far outweigh that of Teodosic's own from across the Atlantic for sure, but the Clippers are also expected to pay a much steeper price for the former MVP's services. They'll also run the risk of having to deal with the three-time All-Star‘s propensity of getting injured.

Then again, Teodosic has no NBA experience under his belt yet and is actually two years older than Rose. Whomever the Clippers ultimately decide to go with this offseason, the fact remains that neither of them would hold a candle to Chris Paul.

But alas, Rose does seem like the better option to be Paul's replacement on the roster. The former Rookie of the Year is still a prolific scorer eight years into his professional career and has some hardware to back up his potential of re-emerging as one of the top floor generals in the league; barring any more concerns with his health, that is.
