The official Destiny 2 Twitter account announced a Destiny 2 Showcase for August 24. It comes with the tagline “Survive the Truth”.

This date coincides with the end of Destiny 2‘s current Season of the Splicer. No other details have been confirmed. However, there is a lot of speculation regarding an upcoming expansion.

In a statement from earlier in the year, Bungie outlined their ambitions for Destiny 2. They mentioned that expansion following Beyond Light would be titled The Witch Queen. This statement also includes moving the release date of the expansion to 2022. Further details regarding The Witch Queen includes:

The Destiny 2 Showcase might also give more details about crossplay. The crossplay beta occurred last May 25-27. Further details on implementation might be revealed at the showcase.
