There's no denying that Dirk Nowitzki‘s now considered an old-timer in the NBA, but that doesn't mean that the 39-year-old future Hall of Famer can't have a hearty laugh about his own age.

Whistle Sports shared a hysterical video on Twitter with Nowitzki in an apparent elderly footrace against former Dallas Mavericks teammate and fellow geriatric buddy Vince Carter:

The video soon reached Dirk's Twitter feed, prompting the former league MVP to reply with a lengthy chuckle:

The period at the end of Nowitzki's digital laughter (perhaps instead of a more appropriate exclamation point) is quite concerning. Did the 13-time All-Star take slight offense at the video? Is this not the sort of humor they have over in Germany? Or is it simply because there's no way he could beat 40-year-old Vince in a real footrace right now and is suddenly contemplating on working on his footwork and endurance?

All kidding aside, it's always great to see Nowitzki in a cheerful mood even as he enters the final years of his illustrious NBA career.
