You're not going to find many professional athletes with a better sense of humor than Dallas Mavericks' Dirk Nowitkzi.

Dirk has spent some time on Twitter lately and hasn't shied away from interacting with fans tweeting at him.

Nowitzki actually revealed a little nugget regarding his future when one fan came at him straight-up asking him to retire.

There was some chatter this summer that Dirk may be deciding to hang things up, but he extended his time with the Mavericks signing a two-year, $50 million deal this summer.

It was Dallas' way of rewarding Dirk for the career he's had with the franchise so far. Dirk may not be quite worth $25 million anymore, but Dallas couldn't use the money on anyone else so what better way to pay respect to your best player than to give him a deal like that?

Dirk's game is made to remain relevant in the body of an old man. He's still a great player in the league and could probably play for another five seasons if he wanted to and his body held up. But it really does feel like these next two seasons will be it for Nowitzki.

Dirk will be able to climb up the all-time scoring charts a little more, and possibly make another postseason appearance or two. His game will eventually be missed, and so will his personality that provides us with little gems on Twitter like this one.
