The Golden State Warriors have been on an absolute tear in this year's playoffs, cruising to an NBA record 14 straight wins, putting them just a pair of victories short of becoming NBA champions.

Much of this has been on the backs of their talent-laden starting lineup that now features former league MVP Kevin Durant as the primary offensive weapon. In light of that, Dirk Nowitzki gave his unique perspective on the dominance that the Warriors have displayed in the postseason.

Durant's decision to join the Warriors has a chance to create a huge ripple effect across the league especially due to the tremendous amount of success he has experienced in his first season following the move. The fact that he swallowed his pride and took head-on the bashing thrown toward his legacy for the sake of winning an NBA title may have a major impact on the superstar players after him facing a similar free agency situation.

This may lead to other upcoming free agents such as Paul George, Gordon Hayward, Chris Paul or Blake Griffin to seriously consider that route after repeatedly coming up short of an NBA title up to this point in each of their respective careers.

Building a lasting legacy plays a big part in each player's aspirations in the NBA, but obtaining a championship lies above everything else. If a star player of Durant's status can show he can put his ego aside for the ultimate goal, this may just be the beginning of a domino effect across the league.
