After an unexpected loss against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 7, the Seattle Seahawks bounced back and regained their dominant form once again. Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson was at the forefront of the team's attack in their 37-27 triumph against the San Francisco 49ers.

His performance under center impressed his wide receiver in DK Metcalf who went on to show support for Wilson's MVP campaign this season:

“Russ for MVP train is back on the track,” he said after the game.

The seven-time Pro Bowler generated 261 passing yards on a 27/37 passing clip while passing four touchdown scores in the victory. Two of them went to the way of Metcalf who also showed out with another monster outing with 161 receiving yards on 12 receptions.

According to the Seattle Times, Wilson's four touchdown passes now give him a total of 26 this season – keeping him on track to break NFL great Peyton Manning’s record of 55 touchdown passes in a season. He has now accumulated 253 career touchdown passes, and also became just the third QB in NFL history to throw 250 touchdowns in his first nine seasons, joining Manning and Miami Dolphins legend Dan Marino.

The Seahawks managed to outperform a 49ers side without six of the team's starters in action. These include running back Chris Carson and safety Jamal Adams who were announced as unavailable hours prior to kickoff. Also inactive were left guard Mike Iupati, defensive end Benson Mayowa, running back Carlos Hyde, cornerback Shaquill Griffin and nickel corner Ugo Amadi.

The Seahawks are looking to improve their current 6-1 record against the streaking Buffalo Bills in Week 9 festivities.
