There's no denying that Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf is a physical specimen. For those who did not realize this beforehand, then his now-viral chase down of Arizona Cardinals safety Budda Baker quashed any doubt as to how special Metcalf really is. DK's father, Terrence Metcalf, on the other hand, has known that his son is an entirely different breed for much longer than all of us.

Mr. Metcalf recently took a quick stroll down memory lane as he recalled the exact moment he realized that his son was unlike any other football player out there:

“He was playing against my home team back in high school at Clarksdale when he was a 10th grader, and he was taking the kid, he was blocking the DB, and he took the DB all the way off the field and slammed the guy onto the track,” Terrence recalled, via Lindsey Wisniewski of NBC Sports. “And it was in between the whistles and I just saw him do that and turn around and jog back. But his blocks in that game and from that moment on was always elbows in, hands inside, he tried to finish guys like he was an offensive lineman.”

That honestly does not come as a shock. Metcalf is the type of guy who would have this type of insane backstory — and you know that it isn't a fabricated myth given how it's his own father who shared the narrative.

Metcalf and the Seahawks will be back in action on Sunday as they take on the Los Angeles Rams. This should be another opportunity for all football fans out there to marvel at Metcalf's unbridled physical gifts.
