LOS ANGELES – The L.A. Clippers‘ biggest problem over the last couple of years has been their inability to stay healthy and this year has been no different. Of their 77 games this season, Blake Griffin has missed 20 due to knee surgery, Chris Paul has missed 20 due to a hamstring strain and thumb surgery.

In Wednesday's showdown against the Washington Wizards, backup combo guard Austin Rivers left after eight minutes of action and was diagnosed with a left hamstring strain.

The Clippers took on the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday afternoon for the final time this season and head coach Doc Rivers said the guard is likely done for the NBA's regular season, but would not rule him out for the playoffs.

“I would say most likely, yes,” said coach Rivers regarding Austin rest of the regular season. “I think it's a little more serious [than we initially thought].”

“We don't know yet,” added Rivers on his likelihood of being ready for the start of the playoffs. “We just don't know. I would say it's 50/50, but we don't know right now.”

Rivers has been enjoying a career season playing under his father, averaging 12 points, 2.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.5 three-pointers in 27.8 minutes per game on 44.2% shooting from the field and a career-high 37.1% from beyond the arc.
