Blake Griffin‘s future with the Los Angeles Clippers has been in question for some time now.

Trade rumors have surrounded the Clippers' star, but nothing as of yet has been close to actually happening. Maybe that's because the Clippers really aren't interested in parting ways with Griffin.

Clippers head coach and President of Basketball Operations, Doc Rivers, recently weighed in on the Griffin trade rumors when he made an appearance on The Vertical Podcast.

Griffin has most recently been linked to trade rumors with the Boston Celtics more than any other team. Rivers, the former coach of the Celtics, has a relationship with Boston general manager Danny Ainge, fueling the rumor mill even further.

Rivers says he has talked a few times with Ainge this summer, but discussions haven't covered the idea of trading Griffin.

“Danny and I have talked twice this summer,” Rivers said on the podcast. “One was about the British Open and the other was about another golf tournament. That's about it.”

These comments from Rivers are consistent with reports two weeks ago out that suggested there haven't been any trade talks surrounding Griffin. The Celtics want Griffin, but that doesn't mean anything if the Clippers aren't entertaining the idea of dealing him.

A Griffin trade has yet to feel imminent or anything close to that. He's likely not going anywhere anytime soon.
