Hall of Famer Isiah Thomas is a big fan of what Doc Rivers has brought to the table for the Philadelphia 76ers this season. Zeke appeared on NBA TV's pregame show on Wednesday and had nothing but rave reviews for Doc's first tenure in the City of Brotherly Love.

“Doc Rivers is doing one of the best coaching jobs that I think he’s done in years,” Thomas said during the broadcast.

“I think he's motivated again. I think the way he left the Clippers did not sit well with him. He’s got this Philadelphia team believing that they can win. They're playing well, they're moving the basketball, Embiid is an MVP candidate”.

The Detroit Pistons legend furthered that Embiid's return from injury has elevated the Sixers to absolute favorites to emerge out of the East this year. He also had high praises for Tobias Harris and possible DPOY Ben Simmons.

Thomas, meanwhile, does have some history with Rivers, going up against him numerous times as players back in the '80s. The two-time NBA champion guard also understands just how hard it is to coach in the highest level of basketball, so he certainly appreciates Rivers' fine work.

Before Rivers came to Philly, the Sixers were bounced off early in the first round of the 2020 Playoffs. Rivers' old team, the Clippers, also did not too well inside the bubble as they surrendered a 3-1 lead to the Denver Nuggets in the West semis.

By the looks of it, it seems both parties have benefited from one another. Doc got to coach a group of young and talented players, while the Sixers finally got a championship-caliber coach who commands respect.
